Year 10 Creative Design is the perfect subject for students who love to innovate and think outside the box. Creative Design focuses on developing skills in freehand and digital design, as well as model making, through the iterative design process. Ākonga engage in generating ideas and solutions in response to a design brief, gaining proficiency in sketching, model making, and laser cutting. This course lays the groundwork for the Year 11 NCEA subject Design and Visual Communication, which emphasizes Spatial and Product design. Ākonga are encouraged to explore new materials and techniques, including sustainable options, to design and create innovative products.
